This night binocular is an optronic device, which principle of work is based on the transformation of infra-red beams, invisible by an eyes reflected from objects, in the seen image with the help of the electron-optical converter. For work in conditions of very low light exposure in the field-glass is stipulated with infra-red illuminator.

NVB 2,5x42
The NVB 2,5x42 starlight night vision binocular is a
professional/military quality night vision device designed to provide enchanced viewing in
all low light conditions including total darkness. The
US Generation I, night vision
device operates by amplifying existing light using an Electro-optical system.
The NVB 2,5x42 is a passive starlight unit: it does not require any artificial
light source, although an artificial infrared light will greatly enchance the binocular's
effectiveness in all facets of operation. NVB 2,5x42 is constructed using two separate
electro-optical intensifying tubes contained in a water-resistant composite housing.
The entire unit is rugged enough for extreme field conditions but damage may occur
if the binocular is mishandled. The NVB is entirely self-contained and can operate for up
to 20 hours on 2 AA batteries.
