Reflex sight - structure and purpose

The reader who is familiar with our publications about optical sights, will not leave indifferent and a small sketch of the collimator sights.
The collimator sight, as can be seen from the very name, is equipped with an optical device - a collimator. The use of this device in the scope of the sight provides a high speed: an increase of 2-3 more than for simple optical targets. Unsurprisingly: after all, an arrow using a collimating sight is sufficient to combine the ob- servation observed in the ocular image of the target with one luminous red mark that has a shape or a circle, or a triangle, or a T-shaped crosshair. (The user of an ordinary optical sight should combine the image of the target with the fly and with the sighting entirely). The remarkable advantage is that this luminous label does not block the target; this is due to the ability of the mark to let out the rays of the outer light. We also note the striking clarity of the image, given by collimating glasses. Not without reason on the collimator sights the choice, in most cases, the hunters, for which the speed of aiming is an extremely important criterion, is stopped.
However, according to another criterion, the collimating sight seriously loses: its multiplicity does not exceed unity, i.e. the shooting range of the presence is small.

There are 1) open and 2) closed collimator sights.
Open collimator sights have the simplest design. Of the two lenses used, usually in the optical sights of the lenses - the front and rear - there is only the first lens at the open sight. If you express yourself "childishly", an open collimator sight is just a glass screen through which the shooter observes objects and sees a red light point against the background of these objects. It can be said that the collimator sights of this variety do not have a multiplicity at all. Open sights that will be closed and are believed to be better than the field field of view.
Closed collimator sights in their structure resemble optical sights, but only shorter and thicker than them. The multiplicity of closed collimator targets is not more than 1.5. When using special functions, such as a fence, tube, front and rear lens.

It should immediately be stipulated that the low multiplicity of the collimator targets does not represent a major obstacle. After all, the target brand (that same luminous red mark) appears directly on the target, or rather, it gives an impression. This makes it so easier to target that the increase in the target image is simply not required. Besides, with no distortions of this image you will not come across.

Another good reason why hunters so "respect" the collimator guards, then in what is needed to achieve the skill. A big plus is the fact that the collimator's glance refreshes: the red light spot remains visible even against the background of a dark silhouette.

Collimator sights are used not only by hunters, but also by the military. To date, collimator sights are used in rifle installations on attack aircraft and bombers.
